Retroid has just announced on their X (formerly Twitter) page, that they are aware of issues that some users are facing regarding the trigger buttons on their Pocket 4 Pro devices. According to their post, it appears there was an issue with the springs used for the triggers, which has now been identified and corrected.

However, for users who had their devices shipped before January 30, 2024, Retroid is offering a 2-year warranty on their triggers. If an issue does occur with the triggers on your Pocket 4 Pro, you can contact Retroid customer support, who will ship replacement triggers out to you at no cost.

Presumably, this means that replacing the actual triggers on your device will be left to the consumer. It appears you’ll need a T-6 screwdriver, with 4 screws on the back, and then use a pry tool to gently disengage the clips around the device. With the backplate off, the triggers should then be replaceable, without the need to proceed with any further disassembly. Just make sure you’ve powered off the device and removed the SD card before disassembly. You can check out this video up until the backplate is removed.

It seems that future shipments of the Pocket 4 Pro will have the trigger issue fixed, as Retroid is not offering this warranty to any customers who buy a Pocket 4 Pro from this point onward.
