If you’ve been keeping up to date on the GPD WIN4 Indiegogo campaign, you’ll have noticed that starting this month, the GPD WIN4 is now available in an 8840U variant. Previously the device shipped with an AMD 7640U or 7840U.
This variant of the device is available for $985, and ships with an AMD Ryzen 7 8840U APU, 32GB of LPDDR5x 7500 MT/s RAM, and a 2TB PCIe 4.0 M.2 2280 SSD.
Other specs for the GPD WIN4 include a 6″ 1080p 60Hz LCD display, a small form factor, Wi-Fi 6, USB4 Support, and a MicroSD Card slot.
There’s also an optional Dock which you can add to your order for $90 that adds USB ports, HDMI for external displays, and Ethernet. As well as an optional 4G Module that clips onto the back of your device for $100 that supports SIM Cards, allowing you to have internet access on the go.
You can also get this variant with the optional GPD G1 eGPU for $1630, or with the G1 eGPU and an Oculink cable and adapter for $1672.
Starting in April, GPD will also be offering an 8840U Variant with 64GB of RAM and 4TB SSD storage as an option on Indiegogo. That seems a little overkill for a handheld device, but if you really want the best of the best, it’s an option for you!
You can check out the GPD WIN4 Indiegogo campaign, there’s still a reasonable amount of units left, but after the first 100 sell, it looks like the price will go up $50 when the device hits retail. These 8840U units will start shipping at the end of March 2024.
