The MSI Claw is finally available to pre-order in the United States from the MSI Store, after already launching in Thailand and pre-orders having been available for several days in the UK and Europe. The site says that pre-orders will begin shipping from March 12th, 2024.
The only model to currently have a release date is the top-end model of the MSI Claw, priced at $799, which has the Intel Core Ultra 7-155H APU, paired with 16GB of RAM and a 1TB NVMe SSD.
Here’s the full run-down on the specifications of this model direct from MSI:
The Intel Core Ultra 7-155H APU that this model of the MSI Claw sports, is designed to go toe-to-toe with AMD’s 7840U APU. In the tests we’ve seen conducted around the internet though, it tends to fall a little short of the AMD chip, especially when it comes to graphical power. Still, it’s nice to see Intel taking the handheld market seriously and getting involved, maybe when they’ve had as much time to refine as AMD has had, they’ll be back with a stronger chip.
There are 2 other models of the MSI Claw, one with the Core Ultra 7-155H APU, but with a 512GB SSD instead of a 1TB, priced at $749, and one with the Core Ultra 5-135H APU with a 512GB SSD, priced at $699, but neither of those have their release dates stated yet.
