Have you been trying to modify the GPU memory frequency on your GPD WIN 4 and not been able to do so successfully? Well no matter, GPD has you covered with a new update available now!
Today, GPD released a new BIOS update for the GPD WIN 4 that fixes your device’s ability to change its memory frequency. This BIOS update only supports the models that have a 7640U or 7840U APU inside, so if you bought one recently, you will be able to utilize this update!
To get it, you will need to head over to GPD’s support page for the WIN 4 and scroll down in the Drivers and BIOS tab. Once at the bottom, you will see the “WIN 4 2023 BIOS v0.52” option, and then click download. Then, you will be able to update your BIOS and make frequency changes available again!
You can purchase the GPD WIN 4 right now on Indiegogo. There are multiple different options to purchase with either a 7640U APU or 7840U APU with different RAM and Storage.
There are also options that include the GPD G1, an eGPU that can plug into it and boost the device’s power with a more powerful graphics card. I tried this out while waiting for my flight a week ago, and it was nuts.
My thoughts on the GPD WIN 4 will be coming soon, but it will be very positive!
